Symbiosa is pleased to announce that we are able to offer high resolution color and infrared imagery with full Continental US coverage.  The color imagery is 1 foot/pixel resolution, geographically precise and provides coverage for many difficult to find areas of rural utilities service territories.  The data can provide rubbersheeting opportunities for GIS users with existing data that is precisely measured but geographically inaccuracies.  The infrared imagery is 2 foot/pixel resolution and can allow Operations Managers to pinpoint vegetation management needs from an office environment using GIS technology. For more information please contact us.

Symbiosa has completed a successful implementation of ChangeOut AMI Deployment Technology at Lacreek Electric in Martin, SD.  ChangeOut provides a technology infrastructure that eliminates the need for paper based data collection during the AMI deployment process. ChangeOut leverages state of the art ruggedized GPS devices with built in bar code scanning and digital photo technology.  This allows Lacreek to collect GPS coordinates on existing consumers and record all pertinent meter change data using ChangeOut.  ChangeOut also takes a photo of the final meter reading so that there is no question whether the reading was taken correctly.  In the office ChangeOut integrates with Lacreek's NISC CIS system eliminating manual data entry which in turn reduces data entry errors and streamlines the deployment process.

Although Symbiosa personnel have long been familiar with MultiSpeak® standards, particularly as applied to GIS, and their application to integration between other utility systems, we recently took the extra step of attending the MultiSpeak® Integrator course and passing the test to become officially designated as a MultiSpeak® Integrator.  We would like to thank Gary McNaughton for the time and effort he spent enlightening us on the finer points of the specifications and the general direction of the movement.  You can find more about MultiSpeak® and our designation as an official Integrator here

Symbiosa has completed a successful GIS conversion for Satilla REMC, an electrical cooperative based in Alma, GA that serves more than 50,000 consumers.  Satilla REMC utilizes SEDC CAS and GAS for accounting and previously used Origin, a legacy GIS, for their Geographic Information System needs.  Satilla recognized the power of having the power of the WindMil connectivity model at the center of their GIS and its ability to seamlessly integrate and update system information in their Milsoft DisSPatch OMS system.  Using WindMilMap Satilla is able to easily update their outage system with the latest information on their electrical system.
